I am an artist who records people’s feelings and dreams, life of the cities and the beauty of nature. I do not record the particular time of the period; instead I try to find connections between things. I believe that everything is interconnected in this world from what we see every day in our lives to what we accept as a fantasy or a dream. Hidden ideas and familiar moments in the art works allow different people in diverse ways to perceive and feel the actual conception. Many contrast colors establish a mystery – like surreal quality, creating an illusion of something between dreams and real life. Flow of life continues … Do you see those colors? The high contrast in the background creates a mystical atmosphere; isn’t it beautiful? The scene does not last forever; you can only memorize it. In those conditions, you start to forget about everything. This is where the imagination comes.
You watch the game of colors until it slowly fades away.
Far out, that’s where art goes. Whenever I look at a blank canvas, it’s not blank to me. I already see dozens of concepts and ideas fluttering on the blank surface. The ideas originate from a zone of reality that exists both in my mind and in the material world. Using the spectacular universe as inspiration and applying my ever growing ideality, I venture beyond familiar realms (figures, objects, settings). The art I compose will not just take me to unique grounds, but the observer as well. I invite all who behold my artistry to join me in my exclusive conceptual worlds. These “worlds” are a part of me. My art is an extension of myself, primarily my mind. In my pieces I explore far, remote places of my conscience. This is where truly extraordinary and fresh ideations can be discovered. My expanding imagination carries me far out. I am an artist and my mind is my greatest medium. -LUCAS RIQUENES
“Art is a natural process that defines the crystallization of physics and art in one. Creation parallels matter in my mind, both hemispheres as masculine and feminine, form and formlessness. My thoughts and ideologies weave throughout time and space from a viscous, univeral fabric into various medias and dimensions. The exploration of both natural and manmade structures are reflected in my work by finding new ways to defy boundaries and communicate even the less tangible aspects of our reality and perception.”
