It is with great excitement that we share 9th grade student Sarah Howard’s achievement as she exhibits her work in the Art.Write.Now.DC exhibition as of November 15, 2018. Her work was previously exhibited at the Pratt Institute in New York, and was awarded a national gold medal in the 2018 Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. Her current inclusion in Art.Write.Now.DC is part of a special exhibition of works from the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and will include more than 80 works of art and The Best Teen Writing of 2018. Ms. Howard’s painting will be on display in the lobby of the U.S. Department of Education’s main building.

Carlos Cepeda, and last year’s seniors Gabriel Chez and Christopher Abella had the honor of having their artwork featured in Albricias, the national magazine of the Spanish Honor Society. The magazine is published twice a year. The students submitted their work at the end of the 2017-2018 school year. Selections were made by the magazine from work garnered from all the different national chapters of the Spanish Honor Society. The featured students will be receiving a small monetary award sent directly to them.
