Underfashion Club Distributes $200,000 in Student Support & Expands Number of Participating Schools


Strengthens commitment to the future of intimate apparel design & merchandising

New York, NY – May 11, 2016 – The Underfashion Club, the intimate apparel industry’s non-profit organization dedicated to education, is marking its most ambitious year yet, with expanded support to benefit students through its Scholarship, Awards, Internship and Grants (SAIG) programs.  In addition to monetary increases, the program has also been expanded beyond the Fashion Institute of Technology to include –  DASH in Miami, Parsons,  High School of Art & Design, and LIM College.

“We are thrilled to be expanding the program at a time when supporting students is crucial to the future of the intimate apparel industry. Now more students than ever will be able to fulfill their dreams and pursue their studies at premier centers of education.  The programs fulfill our mission to Support Education Today For A Better Industry Tomorrow,” says Victor Vega, president of The Underfashion Club.

In 2015, The Underfashion Club distributed $200,000 in scholarships, awards and internships, in support of intimate apparel design and merchandising students, including:

 Awarding a $2,500 scholarship to the winner of the student design contest at Design and Architecture Senior High School pending their acceptance into a college/university.
